Binah.ai to Offer New Hypertension and Diabetes Risk Feature for Its Video-Based Health and Wellness Checks

Binah.ai, the leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI)-powered health and wellness check software, announced today that it is offering hypertension and diabetes risk features on its video-based health and wellness checks.

Binah.ai will soon add cholesterol risk, glucose after fasting and anemia risk.

Binah.ai’s technology empowers organizations to enable anyone to self-monitor and share a wide range of health and wellness indicators using a smartphone or tablet, whether through spot or continuous checks. The software-based solution measures important health data, including blood pressure, heart rate, heart rate variability, respiration rate, sympathetic stress, smoker detection* and tuberculosis risks* (*under research), and fall detection. It also offers bloodless blood tests such as hemoglobin* and hemoglobin A1c* (*currently under research). Additional bloodless blood tests will be available later this year.

Diabetes Risk

The Diabetes Risk feature assesses an individual’s risk of suffering from diabetes. To assess diabetes risk, Binah.ai uses a range of parameters including HbA1c levels. HbA1c, or glycated hemoglobin, reflects average blood sugar levels over the past three months. This indicator categorizes diabetes risk into low, medium, or high.

Assessing Diabetes Risk is crucial for early detection and intervention. While the risk increases with age, it can also be detected in young individuals. Elevated HbA1c levels indicate higher blood sugar levels over time, suggesting that the individual is either at a greater risk of developing diabetes or already suffers from it. Lifestyle modifications, such as dietary changes and increased physical activity, can help mitigate this risk. Regular monitoring and consultation with healthcare professionals are essential for accurate assessment and personalized management strategies.

Hypertension Risk

Binah.ai’s Hypertension Risk feature assesses an individual’s risk of suffering from hypertension. Hypertension, or high blood pressure, is a common condition that increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and other health complications. The indicator categorizes hypertension risk into low or high based on blood pressure readings.

Lifestyle changes, including diet modifications, regular exercise, and stress management, play a crucial role in reducing hypertension risk. Monitoring blood pressure regularly and consulting with healthcare providers for personalized advice and treatment are essential steps in managing and lowering hypertension risk.

“Hypertension and diabetes combined account for over 40% of annual global deaths. Prevention is crucial in combating the development of these diseases. We are thrilled to provide the insurance and wellness sectors with an innovative and user-friendly solution that significantly benefits their end-users, while allowing organizations to better manage risk, offer more personalized services, and optimize costs,” says David Maman, Co-Founder and CEO of Binah.ai.

How can the insurance and wellness industries benefit from the new features?

Organizations in the insurance sector can greatly benefit from the new risk features. These features enable better management of future risks and claims, more accurate policy pricing, streamlined processes, reduced operational costs, and increased digitalization. Additionally, they help end-users address developing health issues in a timely manner. Underwriting, straight-through processing (STP), and dynamic underwriting are some use cases that can gain the most from Binah.ai’s new features.

In the wellness industry, service providers can help end-users monitor their current and potential future wellbeing status, prompting them to take timely, life-changing measures to improve their health by using objective, real-time health data.

When will the hypertension and diabetes risk features be available at Binah.ai?

Both features will be available for organizations in Q3/2024 through Binah SDK.
